The Photokids Contest was started in 1996 by a group of New Zealand's professional portrait photographers, in order to help raise funds for Cure Kids (formerly the Child Health Research Foundation).
Now almost 15 years later - the PhotoKids Contest alone has raised over $320,000 for children's health research. This has helped fund world first break-throughs in cot death, childhood leukemia and cystic fibrosis. Your donation can also help save hundreds more young lives, and improve their quality of life.

The Photokids Contest asks for nominations from parents who are interested in entering their child-(ren). There are categories for girls and boys from birth to nineteen years of age.
Each participant receives a professional, creative portrait session by Helen Jones for a $30 donation to Cure Kids. This donation is used for medical research, which will also benefit the future children of our country. Once your nomination is accepted, you are invited to a free consultation/planning appointment, where ideas and preferences are used to plan the photo shoot. This includes a discussion on what to wear, portrait options and prices for your reference.
There is no obligation to purchase, however, we're sure you will be delighted with the results and wish to be prepared in your decision-making process!
At your viewing appointment, parents can choose a photograph to be entered into the contest for judging, which is to be held in early 2011 by public vote in your region, with the finalists from each category being submitted for national judging. You could be in to win the main prize of a $5000 Travel Voucher!
There are only a limited number of portrait sessions available, so please contact us via our contact form or by phone for any queries, and to nominate your child.
