Sam & Nicola

Feb 20th - Nicola & Sam were married on another wonderfully fine, warm summer day, at Mystery Creek in Hamilton.

Nicola made a memorable entrance by helicopter - fabulous! I wonder if there is such a thing as exiting a helicopter appropriately in a wedding dress? In fact her dad gracefully carried her! The girls got ready at the elegant Le Grand Hotel, which always provides for glamourous shots and wonderful natural light.  The guys enjoyed a casual morning pre-lude to the event, with swimming and doing "bombs" in the family pool. This young, relaxed, photogenic couple went on to have a wonderful day!

Jamie & Katherine

Katherine & Jamie enjoyed their February 12th wedding at the ever popular Sarnia Park in Cambridge.  Katherine was looking super-glam, and the bridesmaids stunning in midnight blue dresses! Fantastic makeup again by Suzie Rutz.

The sun shone beautifully during the garden ceremony, and with the thoughtful gesture of offering parasols to shade the guests during the warm day - people welcomed short term shade with thanks to Blakes Hire Company.

The rain however, decided to make a timely appearance right in the middle of the family photographs...and bucketed down even more once the bridal party arrived at Karapiro, for their exclusive shots!  Out came the umbrella's for a little while, and when "plan B'' came into play and we left for a more sheltered area back at Sarnia Park - the sun came out again! It was a fun day though, which  was not hampered by the sudden down-pours!

Fleur & Andrew's wedding

It was a muggy, hot day on Feb 5th in Hamilton! But such a priviledge to photograph Fleur & Andrew's wedding, especially since I have known the family for a while...

Andrew and his sons enjoyed a laid back prelude to the event, getting ready at the Le Grand Hotel, which also provides a creative and elegant backdrop for capturing the early shots.

Fleur was such a stunning, relaxed bride and carried on tradition by wearing her grandmothers veil - a beautifully detailed lace creation.  The ceremony was held at St. Peters Cathedral, which looked just amazing all decorated with fragrant white lillies everywhere.  With the reception at the Ferrybank Lounge, it's also great for walking to all the nearby photographic locations - no parking hassles!

Staff member ties the knot

The first wedding of the new year was for staff member - Deb, who was married at Willow Glen in Gordonton, Hamilton.  Deb has worked with us for 6 years, and so it was great to be there and see her celebrate the milestone, and be on the other side of the camera for a change!

The sun shone perfectly by the afternoon, and was it lovely to see an intimate ceremony which just included the bride & grooms parents and children, later followed by a family dinner.  Then a cocktail style evening of drinks, canapes and dancing for all other guests, who arrived at 7.30pm.

A gorgeous make-up job by Suzie Rutz of the Makeup Room, and Hair by Adeva in Cambridge.

Family Heirlooms!

One of the fun concepts available to our clients are Family Heirloom Albums...

a precious idea which can follow the development and milestones of kids and their families over a 2 year period.  This is great for showing the growth and changes that occur in children from a very young age, and is also perfect starting from pregnancy and following on with baby and familiy portraits.

Portrait sessions are complimentary, taken 2 - 3 times each year, and after each session, you choose a selection of portrait pages to be added to your album.  Your album is of the highest quality, hand crafted in NZ, and made to last the generations. You choose the cover style and material and a photograph or family name for the front. This is truly special, for your children to treasure once they are all grown up themselves!

One of the heirlooms in progress is: Nathan and his family, who have a wonderful range of shots around Mt. Pirongia in the Waikato. We have enjoyed seeing Nathan go from gorgeous and chubby cheeked as an infant, to his growing confidence as he celebrated his 1st birthday with extended family!
